Nzime at Silverstone MotoGP

Over the weekend some of us took a little time out away from the screens to get some much needed, high speed, motorbike action at the Silverstone MotoGP. The weather on Saturday was beautiful for qualifying, with some of us looking a similar colour to Rossi’s Ducati by the end of the day.

Unfortunately it wasn’t so friendly on Race Day with heavy rain and harsh winds, it didn’t stop the fans from turning out in their masses though. The Riders braved the treacherous conditions to put on a great show with some fairing better than others.

Congratulations to Colin Edwards who came an amazing 3rd despite breaking his collar bone the week before.

Custom url Shortening nzi.me

We couldn’t resist registering nzi.me as a url shortening domain. With the BBC, Twitter, Facebook already taking advantage of custom short urls it seemed a shame to let such a perfectly branded name go to waste.

It was simple to setup with bit.ly providing a pro service that lets you link your own short domain. Now we can track the response to any url’s we post with the added bonus of the nzi.me brand.

After only a few days Will’s tee received enough orders to go to print and be sent out to all the lucky people who brought one. For all you that haven’t ordered one there is still 3 days left!

WordPress is 6 years old!

Popular blogging platform WordPress celebrates its sixth birthday today.
Founder Matt Mullenweg apparently still has many more ideas to push WordPress further over the next 6 years as mentioned in his recent interview with tech reporter Robert Scoble. The recent 2.7 update is also a great improvement with a redesign by U.S agency Happy Cog and as a particular favourite of all of us here at Nzime we hope it continues as one of the best systems for bloggers worldwide.

Christmas 2008

tiled1

Last night was the time to be jolly with the Nzime studio heading out in the masses for the traditional Christmas outing.

The night started with much food and drink. Followed by Russian dancers that were quickly put to shame by the amazing dance moves of the Nzime team (videos + pictures to be included). The festivities peaked towards the end of the night with classics such as “Abba – Dancing Queen”, “Los del Río – The Macarena” and “Take That – Relight My Fire” drawing out the dance moves time had long forgotten.

Once everyone had burnt off the calories of the meal and beer on the dance floor, everyone headed to the Dodgems (traditionally bumper cars) for a final head to head battle. Cameras and Bags where flying all over the place with some of the less tame head to head collisions.

The aftermath of the Christmas party has left few suvivors this morning, all of which are nursing battle wounds with large amounts of coffee, water and greasy foods.

The Nzime Christmas tree

It’s that time of the year again and the Christmas tree is taken it’s place in the new studio.

Anna also got involved in the process but in a more destructive manner:

We will post an update shortly, with the tree after its festive makeover.
