Nike really gets the value of analytics

Nike+

Nike’s Nike+ running analytics product gives them invaluable feedback and the customer is paying to give it to them!
Over 1.2 million runners use the data logging system to upload their running data to the Nike site which returns stats on their daily run, but also gives Nike the opportunity of analysing runners trends such as the average duration of a run worldwide (35 minutes) and the favourite ‘Power Song’ the runners use (Pump It by the Black Eyed Peas!).

From the mass of data that Nike is collating, they are able to put this back into product development and promotion.
Just another cool way of using analytics and website data to gain an understanding of your target market!

Wired have just posted a great article on this – check it out here.
